ABOUT ASHLEY SHARP

I work with an incredible group of people that I am grateful for every single day. I started off my career as a reporter at WJHL in Tri-Cities, TN/VA. For my first job out of college, I could not ask for a better opportunity to pursue my dream in television news. I am now the weekend morning anchor and a morning reporter/MMJ Monday-Wednesday. I was promoted to my anchor position less than a year into my contract.

If I have learned anything in this field it's this: hard work is rewarded with great opportunity. Which in turn, just gives you more opportunities to work even harder. I am passionate about keeping my finger on the pulse of the community and reporting what matters to them. My goal is to walk alongside the viewers while we help them navigate the truth of what impacts them daily. I pride myself in being trusted by the community to get it right the first time.

Throughout my college career, I gained experience interning at WMC Action News 5 in Memphis and working part-time at WBIR in Knoxville.

I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee- Knoxville. When away from work I am a proud "Big Sister" through the Big Brother Big Sister network, avid gym-goer, lover of hikes and passionate reader. I have called Tennessee "home" my entire life, from Memphis to the mountains of Northeast Tennessee.
